The first hospital of the Saudi German Hospitals Group in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia was established in Jeddah and started operating in 1988, when German healthcare standards became available in the local sector. After establishing a strong reputation for quality healthcare and scientifically based management, the group expanded and expanded to other areas of the Kingdom. There were large numbers of Saudi patients going to Germany seeking quality medical treatment, and these patients and their families found it very difficult to identify specialized medical centers that suited their health condition, as well as facing great difficulties on the cultural and logistical levels. Therefore, the Batterjee family decided to establish its first hospital in Jeddah through its strategic relationships with well-known German universities. The Saudi German Hospital in Jeddah is one of the hospitals that includes healthcare in all medical and surgical specialties, in addition to the availability of all the necessary capabilities for diagnosis of diseases and medical support services, with a capacity of 218 beds, and the hospital has been in operation since 1988. The hospital is located on Batarji Street in the main Al Zahra area of Jeddah, a short distance of only a few kilometers from Jeddah Airport, and very close to the main streets of Jeddah.
