Magrabi Hospitals & Centers Group was established in 1955 as an eye hospital in Jeddah and is the fi rst specialized hospital in the Middle East and North Africa. Today, it is the largest medical group in the Middle East and Africa working in the fields of ophthalmology, ear, nose, throat and dentistry, providing its services annually to more than one million patients and performing more than one hundred thousand surgeries. In the late seventies, Magrabi Hospitals & Centers decided to expand the scope of its services provided in the Gulf region by adding ear, nose, throat and dentistry specialties. The aim of this strategic step was to diversify the distinguished medical service provided to its clients in new fields. In 1997, Magrabi Hospitals & Centers merged with AMI Saudi Arabia Ltd., a member of the Xenel Group and one of the largest hospital management companies in the Middle East. This merger is considered a fusion of the highest quality standards in medical service with the most superior medical management skills in one crucible through which we provide our clients with care to our satisfaction. Magrabi Hospitals & Centers branches have spread to cover the Middle East and Africa through twenty-four hospitals and medical centers. The medical team consists of 300 doctors and 600 nurses, and our facilities include 40 operating rooms. In 2009, the International Finance Corporation, a member of the World Bank Group, entered into a partnership with Magrabi Hospitals and Centers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to expand private health care in the field of ophthalmology in the Middle East and North Africa region, and to meet the need for high-quality ophthalmology services.
